WordPress 4.9 “Tipton” is now available for all WordPress users.
The much anticipated WordPress 4.9 update is now available. The update was released on November 15th following a delay of one day. The release, as with all WordPress updates, is named after a jazz musician. This update is in honour of Billy Tipton.
WordPress 4.9 has smooth design and workflow in mind for WordPress users. It aims to keep end-users safe from coding errors.
WordPress 4.9 Highlights:
The customiser workflow has been improved so that users can now draft and schedule site design customisations. In addition, users are able to collaborate with design preview links and use the design lock feature. These features aim to help to protect your work.
Furthermore, there have been coding enhancements. Syntax highlighting and error checking is now available which will make it easier for users to see what has gone wrong in their CSS. This also includes added protection to avoid the “dreaded white screen”.
More warnings have been put in place for practices such as editing themes and plugins. There is a new gallery widget and add media button.
In addition, there have been site build improvements with theme switching being made more reliable and better menu instructions being implemented.
