WordPress 4.9.2 Security and Maintenance Release
The first WordPress update of 2018 was announced on January 16th. WordPress 4.9.2 is a security and maintenance release that we recommend you update to as soon as possible.
One of the reasons this update came about is due to a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in MediaElement. The files have since been removed and MediaElement have released an update fixing the bug. In addition, there is also a plugin with fixed files available.
A further, 21 bugs were fixed. These included:
- JavaScript errors that prevented posts from saving
- Switching themes will now attempt to restore previous widget assignments
